Walter Alexander Kowerduck's Obituary
Walter (Rush) Kowerduck, age 100, passed away on November 7, 2017 in Spring Hill, Florida.
Rush was born May 11, 1917 in St. Joseph, Michigan to Lydia and Dimitri Kowerduck. He married Geraldine Conklin in 1937. They were short of 75 years of marriage when Geri passed away at the age of 91 in 2012.
Rush lived in St. Joseph and worked at Whirlpool Corp. as an industrial mechanic. After retiring he moved to Zephyrhills, Florida.
Lifetime highlights included roller skating, speed boat racing, doing civilian work with the police dept. He started Higman Park Roller Rink, K&K Marine and was a lifetime member of Fraternal Order of Police chapter #96. As “The Can Man” he organized donations that were given to HPH Hospice in Pasco County.
His amusing personality will be remembered by many friends and relatives.
Rush is survived by four daughters, Nancy Hogerheide, Judy Granger , Shirley Kowerduck, and Mary Jane (William) Hoskin; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren; one living sister, Bernice Benford. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine, and 7 siblings Elsie, Harold, Ann, Ruth, Esther, Robert, and Janice.
Services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Zephyrhills, Florida, on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
