Rexanne Louise Smith's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Rexanne Louise Smith. She was a devoted mother, sister, and friend. She will be very dearly missed.
Rexanne was born in Tampa, to her beloved parents, Marjorie Almerico and Rexford Edward Smith, Jr. who preceded her in death. She eventually became a career counselor for the Hillsborough County school system, a position she was very proud of and at which she excelled. Her influence and guidance were respected and appreciated.
Rexanne loved life, she was always singing along with her favorite music, including James Taylor, Carley Simon, Judy Collins, Bob Marley, and so many others. She loved being beautiful and surrounded herself with beautiful things. Traveling to beautiful places like Jamaica, because she loved the beach and the ocean. She loved the arts, and appreciated all forms, paintings, sculptures, and music. But more than anything else, Rexanne loved her family, and spending time with them was always the most important thing to her.
She is survived by her 2 children; her daughter, Susan Zartman and her husband Joseph Samuel Strange, and her son, Ted Zartman and his lady, Debbora Clippard; 4 siblings, Pat Almerico, Lynne Byers, Lisa Enciso, and Gina Almerico, as well as her nieces, nephews, and friends who will always be blessed to have known her.
There will be a gathering of friends and family on Sunday, February 22nd, from 12-2pm; with funeral services to follow at 2pm, at Sunset Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at 3pm, Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592
