Judith Carol Van Ore's Obituary
Judy passed into the arms of God on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Born in Chicago, Illinois December 26, 1940, she spent most of her childhood years in the family home in Wichita, Kansas. Following high school, Judy and her parents moved to Maitland, Florida where her father was employed in the defense and aerospace industry and later an entrepreneur in the printing business. A graduate of the University of Florida, Judy married her loving husband Larry, a fellow Gator, April 19, 1964. Together, they raised two sons and settled in Winter Park, Florida and adjacent suburbs north of Orlando. Larry traveled often in his career, with Judy tending to two energetic boys while also working as a bookkeeper in public accounting and law firms. Following retirement, they continued to live in Winter Springs, Florida until moving to Riverview, Florida in 2014.
Judy was a gifted artist painting and drawing and had more recently enjoyed quilting and bible study with small groups from St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong Methodist with a strong faith in God, the power of prayer and the sweetest concern for everyone she met.
Judith is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lila Pusey. She is survived by husband of 57 years, Lawrence, sons Andrew and Anthony, grandchildren Joel and Olivia, nieces Lisa Thompson and Anna Kahn, nephew Michael Van Ore and extended family relations.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday September 28, 2021 in the chapel of Sunset Funeral Home in Thonotasassa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to The Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Dementia Society of America or charity of your choosing.
