I have such wonderful memories of Mrs. Slane! When I was young, my mother and Mrs. Slane always made the arrangements for any bridal or baby shower for the congration at Faith Baptist Church, so they spent much time gathering funds, planning out the activities and making the bride or mom-to-be happy with everything. Then Becky and I spent alot of time helping decorate, pick up cakes, making punch, and cleaning up afterward. She was also a member of the church's singing quartet and sang many specials with them over the years, and with my father. Her voice was always a big part of the church choir as well. She and her sister Barbara were such a blessing to the musical aspect of our church! I was overjoyed when Mrs. Slane returned to our church a few years ago - we would sit together most of the time, and sing together, and we would talk about loved ones no longer with us, and I got the chance to tell her how much I loved her. She was a true witness of God's love, and she will be greatly missed!
