Your dad was a true gentleman and a loving friend. An honor the Lord allowed his life's path to cross my life's path. He will be missed, but yet we are so honored to have known him and his precious wife. Your family is so well loved. What a legacy!!!! Our family respected and loved him very much. We know Bob is rejoicing at his homecoming but he certainly leaves a void here on earth. I know my mom and dad (Ken and Barbara Sterling) were thrilled to see him. In Heaven!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Bob was such a wonderful man and he was deeply loved by so many. I will never forget the times we were fortunate enough to have him here in Milbridge, Maine for gospel meetings. His love for God always shone through and he was such an encouragement for our little congregation here. He will be forever loved and held dear in our hearts!

Knowing Bob F. Owen was a privilege in my life. Humorous, gregarious, studious, and loveable are all descriptives of this good man's character. Even over points of disagreement (which were few) Bob Owen was always fair-minded and respectful. He was a joy to be with, and he held many meetings in local churches with whom I have been associated in years past. We spent much time together on those occasions and shared a common interest in foreign work as well. Brother Owen was deeply appreciated by brethren in faraway lands for his demeanor and the content of his careful teaching. I am unashamed to say I loved brother Owen, a sentiment shared by thousands of others whose lives intersected with his. May the Lord bless his memory to our edification and spiritual benefit. "We commend him to God and to the word of His grace" (Acts 20:32).

Carol and I were blessed to spend a week each fall with Bob when he came up to hold meetings for the church in Milbridge, Maine. He started holding meetings there long before we began working with the church and continued for nearly the whole seventeen years we were there. He was a huge encouragement for us to go there. We are so very thankful for all he did. Oh, by the way, Bob really loved fried haddock. That is understated.

I am saddened to hear of the death of your father, Bob Owen. Over a number of years, your father's teaching and encouragement have enriched the church at Clarkston, Scotland, in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus. It was always a very special occasion when he visited Scotland on his way to Ethiopia.
Personally, your father was like an elder brother to me, a mentor, guide, and teacher. We shared many happy hours together with Brother Allen Earlys. Preaching, teaching, and visits with brethren were only a few of the many blessings Bob Owen shared with us.
I am in no doubt that, even though his passing may sadden us, Bob is now with Jesus in Paradise. Please be assured of the prayers of everyone in Scotland who knew your father and my thanks for all the blessings I have known through his great wisdom and example of Christian dedication.
