William J Jackson's Obituary
William Junior Jackson, known as Junior, 84, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on August 1, 2023.
Junior was born on October 1, 1938, in Opp, Alabama, to his parents Rena Mae Nelson Jackson and Riley Jackson. He was the second of five children. He grew up on a farm, where he learned to work hard and treasure what he had.
As a young man, he found himself working as a gas station attendant in Brandon, Florida. It was there that he met his future bride, Patsy Billingsly. They met through her uncle and fell in love.
Junior and Patsy were married on June 19, 1959, in a small ceremony at Mango Baptist Church. The following year, they were blessed with their first child, Penny. Three years later, their second child, Connie, was born. Family was very important to him, and he worked hard to provide for them.
Junior worked at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Tampa, Florida, in the packaging and shipping department as a bottle filler from 1960 to 1995, when he retired. He was a member of Fowler Avenue Baptist Church. He was dedicated to serving the church with the talents and abilities that God had given him. He was active until the time of his passing.
Junior had many interests. He enjoyed finding new recipes to try, listening to Scotty McCreery, taking care of his dog and bird, and growing his garden. His two favorite things were spending time with his family and watching the Tampa Bay Rays play baseball. Now, he has a front-row seat for every home and away game.
Junior was a loving Dad and Papa. He is survived by his daughters, Penny Hall (Jim) and Connie Dalton (Matt); his grandchildren, Cassie Coffey (Kenneth) and Olen Dalton; and his great-granddaughter, Harper Coffey, who absolutely melted his heart.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 11005 N. US Highway 301 Thonotosassa, Florida 33592. There will be a visitation at 10 o'clock AM, followed by a service at 11 o'clock AM. A graveside service will be held at noon.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His family would like to thank everyone who has helped them during this difficult time. They are forever grateful for the thoughtful gestures, compassionate thoughts, and heartfelt prayers.
