Bill was our neighbor for about five years here at Sunnyside Mobile Home Park on Everest Road near Black Hawk, SD until 2003 or so. We met him the night he moved in, helped him unload his new washing machine and move it into his house. He shared his daily newspaper with us every day by installing a mailbox by his back door. Every evening when he was through reading it, he would pop it in the mailbox and put the flag up so we would know it was there. One Easter when our kids were small, he got up early and spread our yard with Easter eggs and candy for them to find. He was so kind, and such a good neighbor. He bought a white corvette during that time, and even let my husband and I take it out on a date night. He planted beautiful rose bushes on our side of his house, and he kept them immaculate. If I recall, from here he moved about ten miles away to Box Elder, and we lost track of him. We did not have the opportunity to meet his children, or Marie, but we are so happy to hear he found love and happiness. It was so interesting to read his obituary and learn about his ongoing life in Florida. I know you will miss him, what a special man. Jeff and Sandi Wittenhagen
