Wendy Lu Hudson's Obituary
Wendy Lu Schimmoller was born on January 16, 1961, to Glenn and Evelyn (Forsyth) Schimmoller, the sixth of seven children in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Throughout her childhood Wendy was very active in sports, her favorite being softball and bowling.
After receiving her high school diploma from New Haven High School, Wendy went on to further her education at Vincennes University, in Vincennes, Indiana where she majored in Respiratory Therapy. This is also the place she would meet and begin a relationship with Richard “Rick” Hudson, whom she would marry on September 25, 1982, after receiving her Associates in Science degree for Respiratory Therapy. Their love would blossom and grow through the years from Indiana to Florida and double in size with the birth of a son, Richard Ryan, and a daughter Elizabeth.
Although growing up attending the United Methodist Church, in her adulthood she joined Church of God of Prophecy. During her time, she served as Church secretary, and assisted her husband Rick who was the Sunday School Superintendent.
Wendy put her education to good use by gaining a job with Tampa General Hospital where she remained employed for nearly 25 years as a Respiratory Therapist. At the time of retirement, she held the title of Respiratory Therapy Manager.
After retiring from Tampa General, Wendy dedicated her life to caring for others in their time of need. This included her mother Evelyn, her sister Elaine, and her husband Rick.
When not caring for her loved ones Wendy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, painting ceramics, cooking, baking, playing pinball and her Gameboy. Above all, Wendy enjoyed spending time with her growing family, especially her grandchildren Olivia and Levi.
Wendy leaves to cherish her memories a son, Richard “Ryan” (Rebekkah) of Land of Lakes, Fla., a daughter Elizabeth “Liz” (Roderick) of Orlando, Fla. Three brothers, Roger (Anita) of Ohio, Daryl (Trish), Warren (Teresa) all of Indiana. One sister, Marilyn (Junior) of Ohio. One sister-in-law Sonya of Indiana. Two grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding Wendy in death was a loving husband Rick, both parents Glenn and Evelyn, one brother Dennis, and a sister, Elaine.
