Wanda Lee Bennett's Obituary
Wanda Lee Norman Bennett, 87, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, in Brandon, FL. Born on January 18, 1938, in Charleston, West Virginia, she lived a life full of love, faith, and devotion to her family.
In 1960, Wanda married the love of her life, Omah Frank Bennett, after meeting him at church in West Virginia. Married just short of 50 years, they built a beautiful life in Florida. They resided after their marriage in Orlando, Naples, West Palm Beach, Apollo Beach, Riverview, Winter Garden, Valrico and Plant City. They raised four children: Pamela Bennett McAllister, Patricia Bennett Carlo, Deborah Bennett Franklin, and Stephen Franklin Bennett. Wanda’s greatest joy was her family, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
She was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, always ready to offer popsicles, sweet treats, and an open lap for snuggles and kisses. She was known for her unconditional love and joy, a woman whose kindness and warmth touched everyone she met.
Wanda was truly in love with Jesus and spent hours in prayer every day. She had a special tradition of giving three kisses when saying goodbye—one for the Father, one for the Son, and one for the Holy Spirit—a beautiful reminder of her enduring love and faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Pam (Dale) McAllister, Pat (Pete) Carlo, Deborah (Mike) Franklin, as well as her grandchildren, Michele (Shawn) Johnson, Jamie (Mandi) Franklin, Deanna (Matt) Hurley, Brendan (Nikki) McAllister, Justin (Nimzaj) Franklin, Tara (Baxter) Williams, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and her siblings, Nishia McGraw, Nute Norman and Roxie Norman.
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Sunset Garden in Thonotosassa, FL.
Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to shine through the lives of those she leaves behind.
