Walter Oren Swisher Jr's Obituary
Walter Oren Swisher Junior, 55, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025. Walter Junior was born October 15, 1969. Regardless of his special needs, his family afforded him many opportunities to experience the world. Walter traveled across the USA, which included trips to Alaska and Hawaii and many other states.
He attended and graduated from Caminiti Exceptional Center and participated in many sports through Special Olympics. His favorite sports were bowling, basketball and especially horseback riding. Walter rode horses weekly for over ten years at Bakas Equestrian Center. Walter earned many ribbons and awards; his most cherished were those from horseback riding.
Watching television shows from the 70’s and 80’s was an enjoyable pastime for Walter. His favorites included CHiPs, The Dukes of Hazzard, and Bay Watch. Along with his shows he had days of the week dedicated to his favorite foods. Among those were Fish Wednesdays, Pizza Saturdays, and Hamburger Sundays.
Walter was welcomed into heaven by his mom Barbara Gambrell Swisher, his sister Tracy Leigh Swisher, and grandmothers Mary Gambrell and Ann Swisher. Among those he leaves behind are his father, Walter O. Swisher Sr., his sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Douglas Moore, Nephews Nicholas and Dylan, Niece Elizabeth Moore and his devoted caregivers Marie Dumay and Olguine Mode-Louissant. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins are also among those celebrating his life of unconditional love.
