We have lived in the same neighborhood for over 50 years. My dad and mom would walk down and visit often. Mr. & Mrs. Gilbert are good people. Good family. We will miss Mr. Gilbert. He was always Herb to me .He thought of me as his little sister because there were several years difference in our ages. My visit with him and Laverne and daughters in May of this year was so very special .Life was hard physically for him but he had a close family who were always there for him and I never heard him complain about hurting or feeling bad. My only regret is that we always lived so far apart.
I will always miss you, Herb, but I know you were tired and ready to go home. My prayers are with Laverne, Glenda, Sharon, Sheila, Lori and the grandchildren.
