Violet H. Rhoden's Obituary
Violet H. Rhoden, 84, passed away July 19, 2017. She was born November 8, 1932 in Tampa, Florida to the late Alfred and Annie (Pick) Herbert. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Rev. William C. Hill II; sister, Helen; brothers, Horace, Henry and Horald; and step-daughter, Betty Webb.
Violet was a lifelong resident of Tampa and a member of Bell Shoals Baptist Church. She loved going to church, helping others with her time and money, growing avocado trees, singing, playing piano and going out to breakfast every morning.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 39 years, Delmer Rhoden; sons, Bill Hill and his wife Irene of Valrico; Charlie Hill and his wife PJ of Apollo Beach; Ed Hill and his wife Sondra of Lithia; stepson, Steve Rhoden of Houston, Texas; sisters, Alice Ashmore and her husband Bryce of Seffner; and Florence Clarke of Brandon; grandchildren, Anna, Crystal, Violet, Nikki, Stacy, Chaz, Vanessa and Eddie; 15 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at Bell Shoals Baptist Church, 408 Apollo Beach Blvd. Apollo Beach, Florida 33572. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 am followed by interment at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N. US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, Florida 33592.
