Vesper "Buc" Godwin's Obituary
Vesper “Buc” Godwin passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 30, 2024 at the age of 85 . Buc was born in Sanford, North Carolina on March 4,1939 and was raised by his Grandmother Eliza Walker Godwin , whom he loved dearly. Buc was the apple of her eye and she called him her little Buc a roo, hence the nickname Buc. Buc went to Ben Haven High School in Swann Station, North Carolina where he was the captain and star basketball player, earning a scholarship to Appalachian State University….. unfortunately he was unable to attend and began to work as a young man , learning the trade of mechanical engineering , working at Honeywell and Syprus Electronics until he retired .
Buc is survived by his loving wife Eunice, of 28 years. Three children Joy (Mike) , Todd and Jeff (Renae) Two stepsons Tim and Trevor (Stacey). Ten grand children Brooke, Victoria , Nicolas, Tyler, Tanner, Alexis, Maria, Trevor, Justin, Selena and three great granddaughters Jane, Mila and Isla. Buc was a wonderful father and papa to all of the kids and they were his pride and joy . Buc will be missed dearly and remembered with love and fondness by all .
