Vernon "Butch" Ray Yoder's Obituary
Vernon “Butch” Ray Yoder, 61, passed away January 13, 2017. He was born May 25, 1955 in Chardon, Ohio to Verna and the late Ray Yoder. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his nephew Jim Byler.
Butch moved to Bradenton in 1977 from Ohio. He was a devout Christian and attended Bayside Community Church. He earned a degree in drafting and design and for 45 years, Butch was a general contractor and built several government and commercial buildings and churches including the first Bayside Community Church East Campus.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tina; mother, Verna; son, Cole and his wife Kristen; daughters, Samantha, Whitney and her husband Andrew and Sydney; grandchildren, Clayton, Mason, Rowan, Aurora, Tyler, Ryder James and Jenessa; sisters, Mary Byler and her husband Jim; Rose Webb and her husband Carl; Karrie Glenn and her husband Bob; and Connie Yoder; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Butch was an incredible man of faith through a long journey, influencing others for the Kingdom of God. His life reflected greatly his motto of God, family and serving others. He built things to last spiritually, physically and relationally. Spiritually, through sowing and sharing his faith; physically, through the many structures, homes and wooden creations he crafted; and relationally through his dedication to his family.
We are grateful for Lifelink and the organ donor families that gave unselfishly, allowing Butch to live a full and blessed life. Memorial contributions may be made in Butch’s honor to Lifelink at http://www.lifelinktissuebank.org/.
Butch had a passion for people and meeting their needs where God called him, whether at home or abroad. From sharing God’s Word through mission work in Nicaragua erecting communities to remodeling projects at Uptown Church in Chicago, God gave him a vision for feeding his local community.
