Verlon Davis' Obituary
Verlon Davis, 76, passed away January 14, 2016 while doing what he loved most; hunting in northern Florida. He was born April 5, 1939 in Charlton, Georgia to the late Early and Ruth (O’Baya) Davis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 7 siblings.
The Davis family relocated to Tampa, Florida when Verlon was a small boy. Growing up most all of his life, he grew to love fishing, hunting and was known as the Barbeque Grill Master to his friends and family. He served our country in the United States Coast Guard and spent his career as a truck driver for ABC Fabrics.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Stephanie Dabbs and her husband Theron of Tampa; grandchildren, Theron, Shelby and Danielle; brothers, Wilton Davis and his wife Terry of Valrico; Wilbur Davis of Tampa; and former wife, Dorothy White of Tampa.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N. US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, Florida 33592. Funeral will begin at 1:00 PM followed by interment and Coast Guard Military Honors in Sunset Memory Gardens.
