Timothy "Timmy" Hampton Stewart's Obituary
Timothy Hampton Stewart passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at 69 years old. “Timmy” will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his larger-than-life personality, and the love he had for his family.
Timmy was born in Pineville, West Virginia and moved to Tampa, Florida at the age of three. He would become an unwavering sports fan in Tampa Bay, cheering on the Rays, Buccaneers and Lightning for every game. It was on the water, however, where Timmy found true peace. He was known for being a talented angler and won several bass fishing tournaments. Whether on a boat or a dock, there was nothing more sacred than that first cast.
Timmy had a knack for coming up with memorable nicknames for his loved ones – and they were quick to return the favor. Back in the day, “Wolf Man Jack” was a favorite for many. In his twilight years, he would become known as “Whitey” for his white hair and beard. He was affectionately called this by his grandson Bane, whom he proudly showed off photos of every chance he got. Being a grandfather was a title he was especially proud of.
Everyone who was around Timmy adored him. Whether it was at the office or shooting pool with friends, Timmy’s laugh made everyone smile. He will be deeply missed.
Timmy is preceded in death by his wife, Candace Stewart; his father, Ira Stewart; his mother, Cletis Calhoun; and his beloved dog, Miya. He is survived by his brother, Danny Stewart; his sister-in-law, Beth Stewart; his sister, Deborah Hallman; his daughter, Kimberly Stewart; his son, Jamie Stewart; his daughter-in-law, Alisha Stewart; and his grandson, Bane Stewart.
Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, on Saturday, May 4, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and the ceremony at 12:00 p.m. His burial will follow at 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Memory Gardens. 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
Timmy was not a fan of suits and ties and would want everyone to be comfortable. In honor of him, please come to his service dressed in your favorite local sports team apparel.
