Thomas Raymond Fleming's Obituary
Thomas Raymond Fleming, age 75, died peacefully at home in Brooksville, Florida on July 21, 2023. He was born on September 26, 1947, in Washington, DC to Margaret Elizabeth Bales Fleming and James Franklin Fleming. He was raised in Fairfax County, Virginia and Prince Georges County, Maryland before moving to Tampa, Florida as an adult, with his wife and children. Thomas was the beloved husband to the late Judith Stevens Fleming, and loving father to his stepson James Tony Blalock and daughter Donna Ann Fleming. He was predeceased by his mother Margaret and stepfather Clarence Alvin “Steve” Carrick, as well as his late brother James Michael Fleming. He is survived by his sisters Donna Lee Merrifield and Cheri Ann Rose, his brother Steven Alvin Carrick, and several grandchildren. Inurnment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery, Thonotosassa, Florida.
Thomas was skilled in electronics, and later in life chose to enjoy life on the road, driving large tractor trailers, with his wife Judy by his side. He was happiest living simply, enjoyed life’s small pleasures, and was grateful for all he had. He loved being near the water, and moving to Florida provided many happy days of swimming and boating with his family and friends. He had a kind heart, a beautiful smile, and a contagious laugh. He was dearly loved by his family and will be forever in our hearts.
