Theresa Lewis Maida's Obituary
Theresa Lewis Maida, 61, passed away June 18, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Theresa was born June 29, 1962, to Willie and Georgie Lewis. She was raised in Tampa, eventually becoming the wife of Gaetano Maida, Jr. Theresa and Gaetano were happily married for more than 42 years. Theresa was an administrative secretary in the Hillsborough County Education system, where she worked for more than 30 years, retiring in May 2024. She loved traveling, camping, and cooking for the family she adored. Theresa was described as a “very old-fashioned southern woman” with a sweet tooth and a heart of gold, who always had good advice and a warm hug for anyone who needed one.
Theresa was preceded in death by her father, Willie Lewis.
She is survived by the love of her life, Gaetano Maida; sons, Richard Maida and Michael Maida; grandchildren, Kaelei Maida and Salvatore Maida; her mother, Georgie Lewis; her sisters, Thetle (Ron) Genovese, Elease (Mark) Seigler, and Michelle (David) Yelton; nieces and nephews, Bryan (Sabrina) Seigler, Brett (Katy) Seigler, Teresa (Mike) Spurlock, Ashley (Ben) Buckmaster, and Jamie (Zach) Cowart.
Theresa’s family will celebrate her life privately.
Theresa will be loved and missed by all who were fortunate to know her, forever in our hearts.
