Susamma Abraham's Obituary
On November 6, 2022 Susamma (Lizy) Abraham, wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away after a valiant battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy at the age of 68 years. Lizy will be forever remembered by her loving husband M. Abraham, their two children along with their spouses, Wesley, Lindsey, Gifty and Joseph, her grandchildren, Joey and Helen, her sister, Valsa, and her mother Aleyamma.
Lizy was born in Thalavady, India to Aleyamma and Pattathil Ittycheria. She was an avid swimmer and runner in her college days and was part of the track team. Lizy met her husband in 1976 and they were married on October 18, 1976. They began a ministry in a church in Trivandrum until the Lord made a way to the United States along with their children in 1989. Once in the United States, Lizy obtained her associates degree in dental assisting. She was a dental assistant for 2 decades. During this time, she was an active member of the Mar Thoma church. She was part of many different organizations and was a fervent choir member.
Lizy was the center and a rock for the family and extended family. Her charismatic smile and jovial presence resounded in every family function and social gathering. Lizy was beautiful, bright, talented and resilient. But the one everlasting character that echoed through her entire being was her unfailing faith. She was a woman of prayer. Despite her devastating diagnosis, she persevered and never complained. Thanking and praying to God daily. In the face of despair and in this time of sorrow, her family finds comfort in knowing she is resting peacefully in God's presence.
2 Timothy 4:7 says, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
