I attended the viewing and mass for Cindy and wanted to thank her family and the priest for a wonderful moving service. While the words of the service were comforting, we all will miss Cindy very much. It will take us all supporting one another to get through this. Sincerely. Marsha Black

As a child, I can remember seeing my cousin Cindy Vorek marching down Kennywood Blvd. on it's dedication day in 1962. She was dressed in her colorful "Lead Majorette" band outfit. She stopped matching the band right in front of me and my brother and sisters and friends standing in our driveway as we were cheering her on and our newly formed WMN high school band. She waved to us. I remember her pleasant and happy smile in the sunshine as if it were just yesterday. She was a beautiful cousin and fun babysitter.
One of the best decisions I ever made during my career was hiring Cindy to join our DARES team. Not only was she a hard worker and quick learner, she brought a ray of sunshine everywhere she went. She was always upbeat and helpful and a real joy to have around. She so openly shared her pride for and love of her family, that I’m sure her passing will leave a large hole in their hearts. The world has lost one of its best souls. Rest in peace, Cindy.
I met Cindy in 2001 when we both started working at USF. We became immediate friends and remained very close all throughout the years. She was my support system at USF as we both experienced the stress of working and managing our lives. Cindy and I talked every week and I especially enjoyed our political discussions. She had a wonderful insight into the workings of the world and helped me to look at things from all sides and practice tolerance of myself and others. Words cannot express how empty I feel now but I will remember Cindy's advice to treasure each day and give thanks to God for all the blessings we have.
