Sheryl Lynn Cuddyer's Obituary
Sheryl Lynn Cuddyer was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother. On August 8, 2024, her fight against cancer ended and her faith became sight. At the age of 57, she passed peacefully in Tampa, Florida, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on October 8, 1966, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Sheryl was the oldest of three children born to Bernard and Margaret Whitney. On June 2, 1990, she married Robert Cuddyer Jr. and shared 34 years of marriage together. They resided in Braintree, Massachusetts, until moving to Tampa, Florida, in December of 2003.
Sheryl attended Baptist Bible College East and later graduated from Florida Baptist College with a degree in Early Education. Sheryl was saved at the age of 5 and spent her life serving the Lord. She was a faithful member of West Gate Baptist Church and taught at West Gate Christian School for 20 years. She loved her students dearly. Her unwavering faithfulness during the hardest days of her life truly displayed God’s love. Sheryl loved her family greatly. Her favorite activities were coffee dates, Costco runs, baking, and house projects. Sheryl had a special love for all her grandsons. Spending time with them brought her so much joy. She loved to be “Nene.”
Sheryl is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Robert Joseph Cuddyer, Jr., as well as their children Michael (Victoria), Robert III (Jazmine), Jared (Kristen), Brandon, and Shianne, and grandchildren Mason, Gavin, Josiah, Caden, Benjamin, and Matthew.
Also surviving are her mother and stepfather Margaret and Burland Margesson and brothers Craig (Angie) and Gary (Cynthia) Whitney. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Matthew (Kayla), Christopher (Amanda), and Jason (Ruth) Cuddyer, and sisters-in-law Cheryl (John) Cuddyer-Melanson, Abigail (Nathan) Xiques, and Lindsey Cuddyer. Sheryl was well-loved by the rest of her extended family including nieces and nephews Tyler (Melanie), Kiersten, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Charissa, Hunter (Abigail), Carleigh, Scottie (Samantha), Joshua, Kara, Kayla, Amelia, Lilly, Talia, and Evan, and great-nieces and nephews; Waylon, Jackson, Ezekiel, Theodore, Dante, Giandra, Matteo, Hailey, Riley, Zachary, Amelia, Lilly, Talia, and Evan.
Sheryl was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Whitney, her father-in-law, Robert Joseph Cuddyer, Sr., her two heavenly babies, and stillborn grandson, Robert Joseph Cuddyer, IV.
A visitation will be held at West Gate Baptist Church, 5121 Kelly Road, Tampa, Florida, 33615 on August 24, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 am.
