Samuel Edmund Wooten's Obituary
In loving memory of Samuel (Sam) Edmund Wooten, 76, who passed away August 13, 2020.
Sam was a native Floridian and a Vietnam veteran who served with the United States Navy Reserve aboard the destroyer USS Strong during the period of 1966-67. Sam spent most of his working life in construction transporting and erecting construction cranes around the Southeast. He loved nothing more than to sit around with a cup of coffee or bottle of herbal tea and talk with family and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Wooten and mother, Ruby Wooten. He is survived by a stepson, Dean Fairchild; his sisters Mavis Cowart and Ima Jean (Jeannie) Fiedler; niece Lisa Cooley, nephews Wayne Sapp (Teresa), Shane Cowart, Robert Tillman (Sichan) and David Cowart (Christy); along with grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nephews, and Sam's companion Turbo, a rambuctious little Shih Tzu.
We must also mention close freinds, who were like family, Jeff and Darla Dillard and their sons, Derek and Dustin, as well as Melissa Touchton, and Cliff McKinnon, The family extends their deepest appreciation to Cliff who was Sam's primary caretaker the past few years.
Due to the Covid19 virus restrictions and concerns, a Celebration of Life and interment at the Florida National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
