Ryan Dean Stohler's Obituary
Ryan Dean Stohler, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2018 at the age of 20.
Ryan is survived by his parents; his brother Carson and sister Sydney; his grandparents, Dick and Marilyn Stohler, Bob and Beth Swett, Billie Don Flynn and Marty Flynn; His uncles, Dr. Wayne Rutledge, Jr., Doug Stohler, and Mark Flynn; and his beloved dogs Pasha Spice and Benny.
Ryan was born in Tampa, Florida on June 2, 1998 to Rod and Kim Stohler. He graduated from Brightmont Academy in 2016. Ryan then attended Washington State University for one year and was currently taking classes at Bellevue College.
Ryan loved to skateboard and fish as a child in Tampa. His family moved to the Seattle area when he was 7. His skateboarding prowess took him to the nearby slopes where he became an avid snowboarder. He was a tremendous athlete who excelled in many sports, but baseball and football were his passion. He played baseball and football for Newport High School in Bellevue, WA. While in his senior year playing football he was voted Defensive Player of the Year and made All KingCo Honorable Mention.
Ryan was deeply passionate about his friends and family. He always had a big smile and a deep, hearty laugh. Ryan got to travel the world with his family and share many experiences. He touched so many lives and will be truly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 16202 Bruce B Downs Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33647, on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 1pm. A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held at Avila Golf & Country Club, 943 Guisando de Avila, Tampa, FL 33548, immediately following the service.
