Ruth Angulo's Obituary
Lakeland—Ruth Angulo, age 78, died Monday with both her sons, her daughters-in-law and her sister at her side. Mrs. Angulo is survived by her children, David Angulo and Alejandro Angulo. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Dillan, Dallas, Justice, Jacob, Jasmine, Marven, and 2 great-grandchildren, Reign and Roman, 2 daughter-in-laws, Stacey Angulo and Amanda Angulo. She was the oldest of her 8 siblings which were Samuel, Alberto, Jaime, Armando, Wilson, Sandra and Martha.
Ruth immigrated to the United States from her home country of Colombia in 1978 and became a US Citizen in 1984. She and her late husband, Humberto, immigrated with their children to Chicago and settled in Bensenville, where they raised their children, and often times worked two or three jobs to build a good life for their family. Ruth and Humberto were the sponsors for most of the Angulo and Albarracin family. They happily opened their home as family members migrated to the U.S.--their home was always a refuge. There were no bounds to her hospitality and she loved having houseguests.
Ruth was a faith-filled woman, whose life was a beautiful reflection of her savior, Jesus Christ. On any given day, Ruth could be found putting her family and others before herself, always serving, at home or in the church, and caring for those around her. She showed her love in tangible ways, she was the adhesive that bonded the large family together. She was immensely proud of both her sons and grandsons, who have all served their country, and their communities in public service. Although she was sometimes a quiet person, she leaves a loud and beautiful legacy for all whom she leaves behind.
Ruth will be sorely missed by all, and today the world is not quite as bright--her beautiful spirit is now illuminating heaven.
Services will be held Friday, July 11th at 10:00 am (visitation) and 10:45 am (memorial service) at Sunset Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 11005 N US Hwy 301 North, Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
