Rosina Massidas-Ramrag's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Rosina Massidas-Ramrag, 60, announce her unexpected passing on August 19, 2025 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Rosina, affectionately and mostly commonly known as “Rose”, was born on September 30, 1964 in Crabwood Creek, Berbice, Guyana — the 6th of 7 children to Paul and Jesodra Massidas. Rose graduated Skeldon Lutheran High School in 1980. In 1989, she married her loving husband of 36 years, Jairaj (Jai) Ramrag, and immigrated to New York City. In 1996, Rose and Jai welcomed their beloved and adored son, Michael.
Rose worked for many years in Manhattan for accounting firm Blumenson Associates prior to resettling with her family in Tampa, Florida in 2017.
Rose was a woman of God, who placed Jesus at the center of her life. She was known for her joy, kindness, and deep generosity. Rose loved to spend time with her big, boisterous family who remember her as always meticulously put together even as a child. Her passion was mentoring and aiding young women in reaching their potential both academically and in pursing their dreams and aspirations. Rose was a woman of grace, elegance, and impeccable taste.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her large and loving family — her husband Jai, son Michael (Desirae); her six siblings: Alfred (Zo) Massidas, Angela (Steven) Sookram, Eve (Basho) Yacoob, Wilfred Massidas, Leila (Denis) Persaud, and Tabita (Roy) Narain. Rose also leaves behind her cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
