Rosa Linares' Obituary
With immense love and deepest sorrow, the family of Rosa Linares announces her peaceful passing on December 8, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
She transitioned surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, wrapped in love and the blessing of our Father Jesus Christ.
Born on March 22, 1950, she lived a courageous and extraordinary life. On December 29, 1967, she married the love of her life, Humberto Linares Sr. Their union was a testament to true devotion and partnership. Together they bravely migrated from Cuba to the United States in 1979, after spending time in Spain, seeking a better future for their family. Through every sacrifice and every challenge they remained side by side, building a strong and beautiful legacy.
From their marriage came a loving family that she protected, nurtured, and guided with all her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Humberto Linares Sr. and their two children Matza Linares Ojeda and Humberto Linares Jr. She was also deeply loved by her son-in-law Luis Ojeda, daughter-in-law Rosangela Presley and brother-in-law Jorge Flores.
She is a proud grandmother to Yessenia Linares, Daniel Linares, Kristal Sanchez, Gabriel Linares, Kristian Alberto and a cherished adopted grandmother to Karel Ojeda, Alejandro Ojeda, Yeiced Medina, Jennifer Tejeda and Alejandro Mesa.
Her legacy continues through eight beloved great grandchildren: Isaiah Rivera, Jeremiah Rivera, Kelvin Diaz, Serenity Rivera, Elijah Rivera, Miah Sanchez, Athena Linares and Kensley Ojeda.
She was the pillar of her family-a warrior, a protector, and a woman of unmatched strength. She defended her children fiercely, worked tirelessly all her life, and devoted every breath to her family. She gave endlessly, even when it meant putting her own needs aside. Her heart was the kindest, most generous, and most loving anyone could experience.
She taught her family that no matter how hard life gets, you get up, dust off your knees, and start again. Her example, her faith, and her unconditional love will echo for generations.
She welcomed everyone with open arms, making every person she met feel like family. To all who knew her, she was "Abuela" or lovingly "Monga." Her spirit lit up every room, and she was always the life of the party- especially when dancing to her favorite song, "Aguanile." Everyone who crossed her path loved her, and her presence will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, unity, and boundless love. A devoted wife, a loving mother, an incredible grandmother, and a woman whose heart embraced the whole world.
May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with the love of her ancestors and held safely in the arms of Christ.
