Rollo Marion Blackard, 78, passed away July 13, 2015. He was born June 11, 1937 in Goodletsville, Tennessee to the late Walter and Pauline (McMurchry) Blackard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Read Obituary
I have had the pleasure of knowing the Blackard family (Randy,and Gary) for over 35 years. We made some unforgettable memories growing up in Morrow Georgia in the late 70's and early 80's. They moved away sometime in the early 80's, but over the years we have made it a point to share our lives with each other. Back when they were here in Georgia I am sure we broke quite a few laws LOL nothing bad just boys being boys you could say. Rollo was always the one who would watch from a far at the projects we would con cock in their garage. Never the one to tell his sons not to try something new or challenging, but rather offer a sound word of advice when needed. It seems like only yesterday we all were still in school, and getting into some kind of mischief. Now we are in our fifty's older than Rollo when they lived in Georgia just don't seem that many years have past us by. I know his family will miss him now, and for many years to come. I lost my own father over 18 years ago, and still have times when I just want to pick up the phone to check in on him. I know there are no words that really help in a time like this, but know that this my way of letting you all know that I grieve your loss with you, and hope that in the days,months, and even years to come his memory will live in each of you, and know that a part of him will live in each generation that follows.

Rollo was dear friend for over 65 years....High school class mate and we have been thru many miles of life together and I knew I could always call on him if I needed anything.
He was the owner of the best looking 1950 model Ford sedan and we shared many miles around Nashville in it.
He also had a wonderful mother that was a friend to all the boys and girls in the area.
We had the pleasure of encouraging him to get in to Corvettes and glad he did. I know he enjoyed his family and all the friends.
We will miss you brother but know we will meet again someday.

Very sad to hear of Rollo's passing. He was a great man and a hard worker. I am truely happy to have gotten to of known such a soul. He loved his family so much He reminded me of my own dad. I remember how much he loved listening to Elvis. Such a loss. Praying for the family.
