Robley "Bobby" Ashby's Obituary
Robley "Bobby" Everett Ashby, 79, of Tampa passed away on April 24, 2020.
Bobby was born on March 7, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Dorothy Ashby Hausl and Theodore Ashby.
Bobby enjoyed tending his many plants, animals of all kinds, watching history and nature shows and had a fascination with Native American Indian culture, even participating in many POW WOWs. After moving to a nursing home, he participated in outings such as bowling, fishing, and visiting the aquarium, but his favorite outings were to Red Lobster and Hibachi Grill. He also enjoyed cheering the other residents up with his collection of holiday hats that light up and play music.
The family is very grateful to the staff for the care he received at Palm Gardens of Tampa.
Bobby was the oldest of seven children. Starting as a young boy, he worked many jobs to help care for the family. He retired from Radiant Oil, where he worked painting and maintaining their service stations in the Tampa Bay area.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Hausl, Father, Theodore Ashby, and brother, David L. Ashby, Sr.
He is survived by his brothers, Paul T. Ashby and Donald Ashby and wife, Rosemary Ashby; sisters, Janice Ashby, Sharon Trumbull and Deborah Adkins; nieces and nephews, Deborah Aulenbach, David L. Ashby, Jr., Heather Ashby, Jennifer Adriani, Azuree Ashby, and Norman Anthony Palumbo, III. Additionally, he survived by 6 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew.
A private family remembrance will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bobby's Honor to Feeding America, American Heart Association, or the National Wildlife Federation.
