Bobby, I’m going to miss our weekly chats, your caring spirit, and your heart as large as an ocean. You were always concerned about others rather than yourself. You always made us feel loved. During our last phone call, I asked if it was OK for Calvin to bring over chicken and rice. Even though you weren’t feeling well, you noticed that it was raining outside and were worried about Calvin getting wet. You only relented when I assured you that Calvin would protect himself. This story says everything about you: loving and unselfish. I could share countless examples like this.
A few days before you passed on, I’m glad that we were able to get together and sing those old gospel hymns from our childhood at Brother Harmon’s church. You and I always enjoyed reminiscing about our younger days together. Your favorite song was “When We All Get to Heaven.” You are now experiencing a day of rejoicing. You’re singing and shouting the victory.
Enjoy the Kingdom of Heaven. Please say hello to Mom, Dad and Benny for us. In God’s time, we will meet you in the sweet by and by; we will walk the streets of gold; and we will chat and sing happily together once again. RIP brother. You are now free of pain.
Love,
Your sis Shirley and brother-in-law Calvin or big boy as you called him.
