Richard E Fisk's Obituary
Richard Fisk, 95, of Tampa, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and friend. Everyone who knew him loved him, and he will be remembered for his kind heart and sense of humor.
Richard grew up in Clarendon, Pa. Right after high school, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed at the Panama Canal Zone, where he met his future wife, Uldene. Soon after his discharge, Richard was offered a civilian job back in the Canal Zone, which he happily accepted. He and Uldene returned to Panama and enjoyed a long civil service career and a happy life raising their family, until retirement in 1983, when they settled in Tampa, Fl.
Richard enjoyed vacationing throughout his retirement years in Panama, the Cayman Islands and especially going back to Pennsylvania every summer. His camp in Brookston, Pa. held his fondest memories. He cherished his memories of summers there on his grandmother's farm and, as an adult, it became his home away from home. He also enjoyed road trips with his wife Uldene, fishing, woodworking, and telling stories about the farm and recounting his years in the Navy to an attentive audience. Richard was very proud to have served his country with the US Navy, and he will receive well deserved military honors at his service.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 60 years Uldene L., daughter Uldene G., sister Carole Utley, and parents, Namon and Vivian (née Zock). He is survived by his children Vivian, Richard, and Marcia. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all.
Service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, 11am, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N. US HWY 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592. Flowers may also be delivered to this location. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center in Clarendon, Pa, which provides support for homeless veterans.
