I am very deeply saddened by the news of Ralph's passing. He was a good friend and colleague, and was genuinely a wonderful, warm-hearted person. His scientific contributions are foundational to the molecular understanding of viral infection in humans, which I am certain, will in future save and improve the lives of many people. His memories and his work will live on and be cherished forever.

I was so saddened to hear about Ralph's psssing. I enjoyed his company a great deal. He always made me smile the few times we were in each others' company. I am so sorry of your loss.
