Paula Rivera's Obituary
Paula Rivera, 78, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on November 11, 2014 in the Tampa Community Hospital. Born on June 7,1936 in Juncos, PR she came to the United States at the age of 18 where she resided in the Bronx, NY for 35 years before making Tampa, FL her home in 1989. During her time in Tampa, she was a devout member of her church Iglesia Misionera, she loved to work on her garden at her home, take care of her chickens, birds, and her dog Macho. Most importantly she always loved spending time with her family. She was a sweet woman with the kindest of hearts, she always made jokes to make everyone laugh, and whenever you came to her house you never left on an empty stomach. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Blasina Melendez, her sister Maria Walta (Cucha), and her brother Angel Walta (Papo). She is survived by her four children: Maria Caracciolo, Nancy Rosa, Heriberto (Eddie) Rosa, and Luis Alicea. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held for Paula Rivera on Sunday November 16, 2014 from 2-4pm. Service will start at 3:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home 11005 N. US Highway 301 Thonotosassa, FL 33592.
