Paula Marie Howard's Obituary
Paula Marie Howard, 72, passed away March 22, 2026, at LifePath Hospice in Ruskin, Florida.
She was born January 19, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Flora (Pat) Wilcox.
For over 30 years, Paula was employed with Hillsborough County Public Schools. She began her career as a kindergarten aid at Clair Mel Elementary School and several years later joined Yates Elementary as a classroom aid. Paula ended her career at Buckhorn Elementary School and retired in 2020 as the school secretary. She truly loved being around children and took pride in helping them grow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard, Sr.; four brothers, Jack, Kenny, CB and Doug; one sister, Dorsey.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy Howard and James Howard, Jr. (Denise) of Tampa, FL; two sisters, LaNeita and Kathy; two brothers, Ronnie and Terry.
She was a proud and loving Grandmother to Madison Howard (Keith Smith) who she helped raise as her own, forming a bond that will forever remain unbreakable. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Keith Smith, Jr. and Kamren Smith, who brought her endless joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026 @ 11:00 a.m. at The Event Gallery, 524 Oakfield Dr., Brandon, FL.
