Paul E Miller's Obituary
Paul E Miller, 82, went to meet Jesus on Easter Morning, April 1, 2018. He was born July 8, 1935 in Hutchinson, Kansas to the late Eli and Mary (Kaufman) Miller. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Michele; brother Bert; and sisters Sarah and Liz. When Paul was 3 years old, his family moved from Kansas to Kalona, Iowa where he lived until 1957. He came to Sarasota then and was a member of Bayshore Mennonite Church and worked as a realtor.
Paul was an avid sports fan. He played and coached softball for many years. He was in the State and District Hall of Fame for Shuffleboard. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and having “breakfast with his buddies” every morning at Der Dutchman.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 58 years, Mary (Slabach) Miller; daughter, Vickie Adele Hamer and her husband Michael; son, Darrin Paul Miller; brothers, John Miller and his wife Janet; Dick Miller and his wife Arlene; Junior Miller; Ellis Miller and his wife Jane; and Gary Miller and his wife Phyllis; sister, Shirley Sommers; grandchildren, Brock Guengerich and his wife Lauren; Lacey Weaver and her husband Kyle; Taylor and Tori Miller; great grandchildren, Brynley and Emery Guengerich and Graham Weaver.
There will be a visitation on Friday, April 6, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Bethel Mennonite Church. Commital will be Saturday, April 7th at 9:00 am in Bethel Mennonite Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service in the church at 10:00 am.
