Olga Iris Jimenez's Obituary
The beloved Olga Iris Jimenez took her last breath on June 10, 2023, at 11:53 p.m. at Kindred Hospital Central Tampa at the age of 87. After struggling with health problems for several years, she suffered from heart failure. She is survived by her sister Mary Catanzaro and half-brother, Eduardo Jimenez. Olga was born and raised in Puerto Rico and was given the nickname of “Santo” during that time. At the age of 17, she moved to New York where she got married and had her 3 children: Joseph Torres, Edgar Torres, and Larry Torres. While she lived as a single mother for several years, Olga received her associate degree in secretary work. In 1969 she remarried and relocated her family to Colorado. During this time, was able to travel all over the U.S. and to other countries as a Pilgrim to visit churches and religious sighting in Jerusalem, Italy, Spain, and Mexico. In her free time, she enjoyed dancing and watching sports. In 2007, Olga moved to Florida to be closer to her mother and family. She has lived alone for many years but recently moved into an Assisted Living Facility where she was given the new nickname, “The Beautiful One.” Olga was a light to those around her. Everyone knew Olga as someone who made jokes, laughed and smiled all the time. This remained the same until her last day. Olga Iris Jimenez is greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
