Nilsa Henry's Obituary
Nilsa Henry was born February 19, 1951 in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Childhood nickname
“Corrio”. Daughter of parents Emilio Garcia (1902-1973) and Rosalina Pinto Garcia
(1914-1999). Loving wife to Roy Henry and devoted mother to four children George
(1974-1992), Wendy, Shawn and Tiffany Henry. Grandmother to seven grandchildren Julian,
Alex, Ethan, Little Roy, DJ, Noel and Nori. Beloved sister to Nilda Jimenez (1942- 2019)
(children of 3), Miriam Garcia Pinto (1945-2007) (child of 1), Sonia Garcia (1947-1984) (children
of 2), Zaida Garcia (children of 2), Emilio Garcia (children of 4) and Milton Garcia (children of 2).
Nilsa was known for her contiguous laugh and vibrant spirit. She was the life of the party.
She cherished her family above everything else. She loved unconditionally, selflessly giving her
heart to her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. Her presence brought
comfort, laughter and an endless amount of support.
Nilsa loved cooking; it was a passion or even a talent. She shared her love for food with others
by opening Nilsa’s Puerto Rican Bistro. Her restaurant became a beloved gathering place where
family, friends and community members were welcomed with open arms and treated to her
delicious homemade cooking. Nilsa liked crossword puzzles, reality tv and home decor. Above
all she enjoyed the game of bingo, which served as her personal outlet. The game brought her a
sense of fulfillment in every win, big or small.
In loving memory of Nilsa Henry, we gather today to celebrate a remarkable individual whose life
was filled with love, laughter and devotion. She had the purest heart. Her presence will be
missed.
May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory forever remain a cherished part of our
lives
