Neva Jean Hawkins' Obituary
Neva Jean Hawkins, 78, of Ellenton, passed away June 25, 2015. She was born February 27, 1937 in Ohio to the late Gordon and Anna (Smith) Dillon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Juanita, Raymond, Kenneth, Cleo, Olivio and David.
In 1989, Neva relocated to Manatee County from New Philadelphia, Ohio. She was a member of the Church of Christ. While raising her children in Woodsfield she was a Scouting Den Mother. After leaving she loved nursing and got her degree. Then as a retired nurse, she started up and owned independent living facilities in New Philadelphia, Ohio. She loved adventure, traveling, visiting and collecting lighthouses and sea shells. She also worked jigsaw puzzles and built frames. She was famous for her pumpkin pies and homemade egg noodles. Adored looking after her great grandchildren after school, Amberlyn Jean and Ayden.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert “Brad” Bradley Ault and his wife Sandy of Wasilla, Alaska; and Douglas “Doug” Ault and his wife Denise of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Marla Jean Miller and her husband Steve of Ruskin, Florida; grandchildren, Mistianna Jean, Matthew, Hannah, Jason, Kaylee, Kiana and Denile; and 11 great-grandchildren.
