Nelva A Ramentol's Obituary
Nelva Ramentol, 77, of Lutz, FL, was lovingly granted her angel's wings on February
19, 2024. As the vibrant heart and soul of her family, the absence of her spirited
presence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born in
Cuba, Nelva embarked on a journey of hope to the United States with her family, where
she became a beacon of love, strength, and inspiration.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Nelva leaves a legacy that
stretches far beyond the confines of her immediate family, touching the lives of the
wider community. Her warmth, generosity, and spirit of service made her a cherished
figure to all who knew her.
Together with her husband, Alfredo Ramentol, she started on 15th St in Ybor City a
humble grocery store, before moving on to establish the "Tampa Meat Market" on Dale
Mabry and later expanding to Broad st. Their business ventures were more than just
livelihoods; they were platforms for imparting the values of hard work, determination,
responsibility, and entrepreneurship to their children and grandchildren.
Nelva's heart extended to those who shared her journey from Cuba to the United
States. She dedicated countless hours to assisting newly arrived families to find their
footing, offering support, guidance, and friendship. Her commitment to her community
was further exemplified through her generous donations and support to first responders
during holidays, showcasing her unwavering spirit of giving and compassion.
Renowned for her exceptional culinary talents, Nelva's kitchen was a haven of
hospitality, where she offered not just a warm meal to anyone in need but also a
listening ear and a shoulder to lean on. Her creative prowess as a designer and a
"Cuban engineer" allowed her to solve any problem with ingenious solutions, while her
meaningful hugs offered comfort and strength.
Above all, Nelva was a devout woman whose love for God, her family, and her friends,
was the cornerstone of her life. Her generosity was boundless, her presence a source of
joy and inspiration. Nelva's life was a testament to the virtues of love, kindness, and
selfless devotion, making her a role model for all.
As we remember Nelva Ramentol, we celebrate a life lived with immense faith,
compassion, and an unwavering dedication to the well-being of others. Her memory will
be cherished and held dearly in the hearts of those blessed to know her, serving as a
guiding light and inspiration for future generations.
Nelva was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Emilio Ramentol; her parents,
Pablo and Maria Vina; and her siblings, Pablo and Mario Vina.
Nelva is survived by her cherished family: her children, Alfredo "Fred" (Margot)
Ramentol, Amaraida (Carlos) Sanchez, and Rosemary (Julian) Faedo; her
grandchildren, Maribel, Pablo, Carlos, Nicholas, Javier, Vanessa, Natalia, Brooke, and
Julian; and her great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Emilia, Pablo, Sophia, Emilio, and Raya.
She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Nilda Gonzalez, along with many
beloved nieces and nephews.
Nelva embodied the essence of Maya Angelou's words, "I've learned that people will
forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how
you made them feel." Through her unwavering love, generosity, and kindness, Nelva left
an indelible impact on the hearts of all who had the fortune of experiencing her warmth
and spirit.
