Nancy J Stewart's Obituary
Nancy J. Stewart, 93, of St Petersburg, formerly of Seffner, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024.
Nancy was the heart of her family, who loved her deeply. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Nancy was born in Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee, to John and Elva Tate. She eventually married the love of her life, Bill Abner Stewart, whom she spent 35 years with until he passed away in 1992. Together, they raised 2 sons, worked hard, went fishing (one of Nancy’s favorite ways to relax) and just enjoyed their life.
Nancy was a dedicated worker. She served as an administrative secretary and accountant for over 34 years at Nabisco, growing with the company and moving offices as necessary. She could do any and every job there, and she never once called in sick in all of those years. Upon retirement from the company, she went to work for her son Tim as his bookkeeper at his collision company, and gave her other son, Darell a hand whenever needed at his construction company.
Nancy was a wonderful country cook, which her whole family appreciated. She had a green thumb as well, and had quite the collection of lush, leafy plants, which she took excellent care of. But more than anything else, Nancy loved spending time with her family. She leaves her beloved family; 2 sons, Darell, his wife, Janice, Tim and his wife Catherine; 3 grandsons, Hunter, Tanner, and Chad, his wife Rachel; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gage and Mack.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024, 11am, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Bill.
