Michael E Poznanski's Obituary
Michael E Poznanski, 77, of Greer SC, formerly of Milwaukee, WI, Oak Creek, WI, and Tampa, FL, passed away peacefully July 11, 2025.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all who were fortunate to have him in their lives.
He proudly served with the US Marine Corp. He was wounded in Viet Nam, receiving a Purple Heart. Yet he remained steadfast in his patriotism and devotion to his country. He had a very fine sense of morality, commitment and dedication to everyone he loved. He was hard working, a talented construction worker, and a very capable "handy man". He traveled all over the world but settled for 6 years with his wife in Costa Rica. They came back to the US and ultimately made a home in both Wisconsin and South Carolina. Michael loved life. He enjoyed so many different activities like fishing, building, and being around the friends he treasured. But more than anything, he adored his family. He always put them before himself without fail. He managed to make everyone believe that they were safe under his watch, and he loved without condition. But he wasn't all serious, he loved a good joke, and he loved to make others laugh too.
Michael married the love of his life, Vallorie Kelpine on May 23, 1970. They loved through 55 years together, raising their 4 children. They worked through all the challenges of life and celebrated all the rewards, which included 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, who Michael adored.
Michael was preceded in death by a son, John Poznanski in 2009 and a daughter, Jennifer "Jennie" Lang in 2013.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Vallorie; a son, Michael Poznanski; and a daughter Karie Tennant; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, David Pozanski and Edward Poznanski; his sister, Laura Hall; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and so many friends.
He will be loved and missed until the day we all link back together in Heaven. Rest well, Michael. We love you.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, August 1st, from 10am to 11am, and Celebration of Life service at 11am, at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL 33592
Michael's urn will be interned to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens immediately following the service, with well-deserved military honors.
