Mary Jane Schrett's Obituary
SCHRETT, MARY JANE (NEE BRENNAN)
Mary Jane Schrett of Riverview Florida, always known as “Jane” to her friends and family, was born in 1944 to George and Mary Ann Brennan. Jane was a loyal friend who brightened up every room she entered with her kindness and sharp wit. She loved to travel with her late husband Roy on adventures to places like Alaska, Yellowstone, Bermuda and Snowmass, CO. She also enjoyed going to see family in Western New York, Pennsylvania and Washington State. She loved spending time in her garden, and she was still happiest at home. Her parents’ death in 1958 meant that she had to become something of a matriarch at age 14 to her four brothers. She was a willing caretaker to many through her life and finally to Roy as he tackled serious health problems. After a professional career in banking, she spent her recent years volunteering at Lifepath Hospice in Sun City and having fun in community plays.
Jane is pre-deceased by her late husband, Roy F. Schrett, who she was devoted to for over forty years. She is also pre-deceased by brothers Richard T. Brennan, James A. Brennan and Gregory Brennan, all of whom she loved very much.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law Philip and Robin Brennan, sister-in-law and dear friend Dawn Brennan, nephews Dr. Brennan K. (Jill) Brennan and Sean M. (Suzy) Brennan and grandnephews Teague and Braedon Brennan. Other survivors include cousins Charles (Patricia) Heath, and Janet Heath , step-daughters Andrea Dickerson and Sharon Stai, step-sons Jeff Schrett and Greg Schrett, brother-in-law Neil Schrett plus many nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by dear friends Ruth McCay, Debbie Hernandez, Jayne Lauve and Pastor Jack Palzer and many others who loved her.
At Jane’s request, there will be no public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, Jane's family requests that donations be made to Lifepath Hospice in Sun City FL in her honor.
Jane will be inurned next to her Roy at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, Florida.
