Mary L. Jarvis' Obituary
Mary L. Jarvis, 89, of Plant City, FL went home to be with her Lord on November 15, 2022.
Mary was born on July 28, 1933, in Tampa, FL the daughter of Oscar and Birtha (Gilbert) Mims. She married Archie Cox, and he preceded her in death. She later married Homer Jarvis.
She is survived by Survived by her husband Homer Jarvis; Son Charlie Cox Jr (Wanda); Grandchildren Susie Cox Crabb (Jerry); Jai Buttram ( Becky ); Jarred Buttram ( Amanda ); Jenna Buttram Devane ( Tyler). Great Grandchildren: Jacie, JJ, Freddie & Kadie Crabb; Carson, Quinn, Causey Buttram; Macie, Tori Buttram; Mason, Roen Devane ;3 Sister in-laws: Doris Cox, Nita Screws, Jan Cox; many nieces & nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by parents Oscar & Birtha Mims; husband Archie Cox; Daughter Debra Buttram (Perry).
Mary (Grandmother) made the biggest impact on so many people's lives. After working hard at Winn Dixie she retired but she didn't stop there. She became a sitter for University Hospital as well as a sub teacher at local elementary schools. Grandmother loved to travel so much she went to all of our 50 states taking a rock from each state. She even went to Europe! Grandmother loved to sing especially in the church choir. She would even share blessings with people at the nursing home by taking children to sing to them. She was also a Sunday School teacher for children's ministry for many years. Grandmother and Homer together ran an active nursing home ministry; Oh, and Walmart was her favorite place to shop.
Services to celebrate her life will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at East Thonotosassa Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the church. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
