Mary Elizabeth Boatright's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Boatright, (Libby) 85, passed away July 21, 2024 after a long illness. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be missed more than words can say.
Born August 7, 1938, she grew up in Twin City, Georgia where she lived until she was a young adult. She is survived by sons Tim (Julie), David (Noreen), grandchildren Alyson, Scott, and Amanda (Ryley), great granddaughters Taylor, Beatrice and Ruby, great grandson Jayden, and her brother Gerald Scott (Joyce).
Libby Scott married Al Boatright in 1957. Raising their sons in Tampa, they were married for 65 years. As the wife of an ironworker, she enjoyed the fellowship and gatherings of the Ironworkers Local 397 Retirement Club.
She was a devoted member of Belmont Baptist Church for over 60 years. Her greatest joy was helping others and she impacted many lives with her humble devotion and Christ-like example.
Libby was preceded by husband Al, brother Wayne Scott (Leona), brother Kenneth Scott (Judy), sister Caroline Rogers (mother of niece Angela Henry) and granddaughter Amy.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 3 at 10:00am, with visitation at 9:30am at Belmont Baptist Church at 7830 N 56th St, Tampa, Fl. Graveside service following at Sunset Memory Gardens, 11005 N US Hwy 301, Thonotosassa, FL.
