So sorry for your loss. I met Marikyn in October and took the picture of her with the dog. She was a very lively lady. Rest in peace Marilyn
I was Marilyn’s hospice nurse for a while and we got really close. I loved hearing her travel stories and her adventures. I could see myself in her, living vicariously at the age of 49 and will be forever grateful I got the pleasure to meet Marilyn. I was hopefully she could travel in her RV, God decided to call his angel home and now she can roam free wherever she wants. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, her mom and her stepdad has he is going through a difficult time as well. I offer my condolences.
Marilyn's mother and family are in our hearts and prayers..
Larry and I along with all the crew who sailed with Marilyn will sorely miss her. We had hopes of her getting well and returning to crew with us again. Marilyn, who graced our boats as an integral member of the crew of Boat and Patronus, left an indelible mark on our sailing community. Her passion for sailing, unwavering dedication, and infectious spirit made her a beloved friend and a true sailor.
Marilyn’s contributions to our sailing adventures were immeasurable, and her presence on board added a unique energy that enhanced the camaraderie among us. Her skill and tenacity were never more evident than when she helped lead our crew to victory in the Dore Drake Regatta, many Thursday Night Races, and BOTY Races.
Beyond her sailing achievements, Marilyn was a dear friend to many of us for years. Her warmth, kindness, humor, and genuine love for others created bonds that extended far beyond the confines of the boat. Whether navigating challenging waters or sharing stories under the starlit sky, Marilyn made every moment unforgettable.
As we reflect on the countless memories we shared with Marilyn, we celebrate her life and the legacy she leaves behind. Her passion for sailing and her friendship have left an enduring imprint on our hearts and many in the sailing community at DIYC as well.
We will forever cherish the moments spent sailing alongside her and the joy she brought into our lives.
Fair winds and following seas, dear Marilyn. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
