Margie E. Abate, 79, of Lutz, FL passed away on October 20, 2022, in Lutz, FL surrounded by her loving family.
Margie was born on May 19, 1943, in Williston, South Carolina, the daughter of Joseph Cecil and Carmen E. (Castro) Boyd. She married Raymond J. Abate on November 27, 1982. He passed away on April 29, 2016. Margie is survived by 2 daughters Jolana Boyd and Gina (Daniel) Nordstrom; 2 grandchildren: Marla (Kevin) Record and Anna Nordstrom. Margie was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers.
Margie was a 1961 graduate of Chamberlain High School in Tampa. She was a member of Our Lady of Rosary Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes, FL. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and her dogs.
Funeral services for Margie will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home, Thonotosassa, FL with visitation being held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or ASPCA.
