Luke Edwin Alleyne's Obituary
Luke Edwin Alleyne was born on June 6, 1954, in Charlotteville, Tobago as the sixth son of the late Jude and Beatrice (Moore) Alleyne. As a young man, he grew up in Tobago and attended Charlotteville Seventh Day Adventist school. His love for music began with him singing in the church quartet and caroling in the community at Christmastime. He emulated his father, "Pappy," and learned to repair household items and build things like chicken coops and donkey pens. He attended Harmond's High School in Tobago, then later moved to Trinidad, where he moonlighted as a bartender and trained in agriculture at Saint Augustine trade school.
He eventually migrated to the Bronx, New York, completed schooling for HVAC/Refrigeration, and fulfilled his internship as an understudy with his cousin Phillip in New Jersey. While forging his path to success, he branched off into electronics by specializing in 2-way radios and GPS installation and maintenance.
He later moved to Tampa to care for his mother, and while in Tampa, he found his life's love, Jackie, and started a lifelong partnership and family. He formalized his passion for electronics by furthering his education and earning an Associate's Degree of Science in Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology, passing on his fix-it and tinkering skills to his son Jordan. He also obtained his Insurance Claims Adjuster certification.
Luke was a distinguished chef and entertainer, creating mouthwatering meals that became the topic of conversation on every occasion. But, of course, the main question was always, "who made the food?" Luke was a magnet for bringing people together. Whether it was his friends, family, or peers, he left others in awe of his lively spirit, music, and superb culinary skills from Tobago to New York and Florida.
Over the last two years, Luke became gravely ill and ultimately lost his battle with cancer. Yet, despite his circumstances, he was always there to champion and support others. We will miss Luke dearly as we continue to hold onto the memories we've made together. We will forever hold Luke in our hearts for his fierce love of family, friends, music, incredible culinary skills, and ability to bring people together.
Luke leaves to celebrate his memory his devoted wife, Jackie Adams-Alleyne; children, Christopher Alleyne and Jordan Alleyne; siblings: Jeanette Alleyne, Hawkins Walter Alleyne, Pearl Alleyne-Hunter, Joy Devines, and Chris Bachuss; a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and cousins; the extended families of the Moore's, Williams', MacDonald's, Carrington's and James. Luke's brothers, Cecil, Willworth, Maynard, and Charlesworth, preceded him in death.
The family of Luke Alleyne, expresses its sincere thanks and appreciation for the love, concern, kindness, and other expressions of sympathy extended to the family. We also acknowledge and sincerely thank Dr. Kenneth Shain, Dr. Melissa Alsina, Physician Assistant Logan Murray, the Case Management Department, and nursing staff at H.
