Louise Eleanor Heaton's Obituary
Louise Eleanor Heaton, 94, of Thonotosassa, FL went home to be with her Lord on December 14, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Louise was born on March 28, 1928, in Richmond County Georgia, the daughter of Edward Hartley and Malvie Annie (Morris) Rickerson. She married John D. Heaton, and he passed away on July 20, 1994.
At the age of 14 years, she became one of the original “Rosie the Riveter’s” welding on World War II war ships in Savannah, Georgia. Following the war, she became the mother of four children: Terry Lee (deceased), Joyce Sutphin, Pamela Durney, and Judith Melinda (deceased).
Later in life she worked as a Nurse’s Aide at a local hospital and nursing home and continued to become a Hillsborough County school bus driver, from which she retired after 22 years. Louise had many hobbies and interests which included gardening, crafting and was an avid reader.
In addition to her children, Louise is survived by her grandchildren: Wayne, Sheri (deceased), Kristene (Mark); Steven (Laura); Brian (deceased) (Shannon), Nathan (Rachel), Adam (Candace) and 11 great-grandchildren; her sister Lynda Allen, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Terry Lee, Daughter Judith Melinda; granddaughter Sheri, grandson Brian, and 5 brothers.
Services for Louise will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home, Thonotosassa, FL with visitation being from 11am until 12:00 PM on Wednesday. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens following the funeral services.
