Lonnie Shawver was a quiet man. I met him when our son was dating his daughter. As our kids’ relationship became more serious, leading to their marriage, my wife and I occasionally socialized with Lonnie and Anita. I remember one July 4th picnic-party while I was manning the grill and Lonnie was supervising me. We were both drinking some cold beer in the shade of a tree. We talked about the things that were important to us. For Lonnie, that naturally included talk about cars. But as we continued to talk, it became clear to me that Lonnie loved his family and was happy our kids were together.
My wife, Amparo, and I want to offer our sincere condolences to Anita and the rest of his family and friends. He will be missed.
