Lois Margaret Rought's Obituary
Lois M. Rought, 83, passed away January 10, 2017. She was born June 12, 1933 in Fort Meade, Florida to the late Lewis and Addie Thomas. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Eakins.
Lois came to Tampa in 1951 from Fort Meade and was a member of First Baptist Church of Riverview. She retired from Lykes Brothers Insurance Company after 20 years. Lois enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and geneology. She was extremely meticulous with all her record keeping at work and at home with her calendars and cookbooks.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 65 years, Kenneth; daughter, Janice Wymer and her husband Steve; son, Kenneth “Wayne” Rought and his wife Diane; grandchildren, Carla Elizabeth Vogt, Alvin J. Eckert, Jr, Stephen P. Wymer, Wendy Lynn Frickie, Kevin Rought, Shelly Diaz, Tracey Stephens and Shane Stephens; great grandchildren, Stephen Frickie, Nicholas Alexander Frickie, Angelina Mae Frickie, Bryan Vogt, Tyler Rought, Cameron Goins and Alexa Diaz; sisters, Jewell Davis and Alice Kenzvich.
There will be a visitation on Monday, January 16, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N. US Highway 301, Thonotosassa, Florida 33592. Funeral will begin at noon followed by interment in Sunset Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
