Lester C. Hathcox's Obituary
Lester C. Hathcox, 58, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015. He was born December 24, 1956 in Tampa to the late Vester and Maggie (Pitts) Hathcox.
Lester was a lifelong resident of Tampa and a graduate of King High School. He loved to go to car shows with his brother Paul. He just won a trophy last Sunday for his 1929 Model A Ford. He loved flying with his wife Boo Boo and watching John Wayne movies. Lester served our country in the US Navy and was a helicopter pilot for News Chanel 8 and Fox 13. He worked for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for 31 years. Starting out as a deputy sheriff and later becoming a helicopter pilot for them as well. He most recently was a pilot for Odem Law Group.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 7 years, Lucy “Boo Boo” Hathcox; stepsons, Michael Vega of Seffner, Florida and Alex Vega and his fiancé, Ashlee; brothers, Paul Hathcox and his wife Lois of Spring Hill, Florida and Robert Hathcox and his wife Chi of MacClenny, Florida; one grandchild on the way and his very close dog companion, Smokey.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at the Bell Shoals Baptist Church, 2102 Bell Shoals Road, Tampa, Florida. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
